More than thirty years in construction and four successive generations of builders. CorpoClair speaks neither like an engineering firm nor like a consultancy: what defines it is the field.
In almost every renovation project, the penny drops too late: too late for the budget, too late for the order of the works, too late to ask contractors the right questions.
And it is not your fault. Nobody supports the new owner through the most decisive phase. CorpoClair exists to fix that, and to let you see clearly during this strategic period.
"We have just bought a property to renovate. What do we do now?"
This is the question CorpoClair answers
The renovation market has never been as saturated, nor as confusing. Between matchmaking platforms, intermediaries of every kind, contractors with a well-rehearsed pitch and advice circulating freely online, the private buyer who has just acquired a property to renovate is often left alone in front of an abundant offering that is very hard to read.
Quotes pour in, and so do promises. Bearings, far less so.
Some firms are poorly structured; others are perfectly competent but speak a technical language few can follow.
Carefully presented, yet built on different scopes. Comparing them then means very little.
Nothing in a property you have just bought tells you what is genuinely urgent and what can wait.
The result is usually the same: commitments made too quickly or, conversely, a kind of paralysis.
Éric Michel, founder of CorpoClair, has worked in construction for more than thirty years, continuing four successive generations of builders. We know how to anticipate both technical and budgetary risks, and we prepare you for the stages ahead so that you can face them calmly.
Our role is not to choose in your place. By the end, you should be able to defend your trade-offs in front of any professional, because you understand them.
CorpoClair is led by Éric Michel. Four generations of builders came before him: in this family, construction is a history before it is a profession.
Close to thirty years of entrepreneurial experience, spent for the most part in contact with renovation sites. What he brings is not theoretical: it is knowing what appears when a wall is opened, what things really cost, and how the trades either dovetail or get in each other's way.
"Over the years, one observation kept coming back."
Éric Michel, founder"When a private buyer acquires a property to renovate, they are quickly faced with an abundant offering that is hard to assess. The internet and social media multiply opinions and advice, often from people with limited site experience. Matchmaking platforms promise a quick fix. Intermediaries multiply. Contractors send carefully presented quotes whose substance nevertheless varies a great deal.
That is why I created CorpoClair. Not to add another offering to an already saturated market, nor to steer work towards anyone, but to put concrete field experience at the service of those who have just bought — before they commit significant sums and choose who will carry out the works. Nothing more. But it already changes a great deal. Quite simply: helping you see clearly."
Beyond the impression left by one or two viewings.
What has to be dealt with first, and what can wait.
A provisional budget you can rely on, item by item.
A coherent sequence, settled before the quotes.
CorpoClair is an activity operated by Ateliers Thomquin SRL, a general renovation contractor working in Brussels and its outskirts. That direct field experience is precisely one of the foundations of our approach: knowledge of real costs, of the constraints of execution and of how the various trades follow on from one another.
The CorpoClair assignment remains separate from carrying out the works. Once it ends, you remain entirely free to consult and choose whichever contractors you wish.
A project preparation assignment, over a short window and within a clearly defined scope.
Neither an engineering firm nor a consultancy. The assignment ends before the works.
Solely by the fee for the preparation assignment, agreed in advance.
No contractor imposed. You consult and choose whoever you want.
Telling the urgent from the desirable, item by item.
No contractor imposed. You choose your companies.
Observations, not impressions.
Fees and limits stated from the outset.
What works on site takes precedence.
A structured, documented approach.
A project that holds, a budget under control, decisions you understand.
Knowing what actually happens once a site is open.
A deliberately tight area: knowing the local building stock, the recurring typologies and the prices actually charged is part of the work.
